How does the Virtual Human Platform (VHP) work in practice, and how can it support safety assessment? In this first webinar in our VHP4Safety webinar series we introduce the platform and show you how it can be used to answer a regulatory question through a concrete example. Dr. Marc Teunis gives an introduction to the VHP4Safety project, followed by a short live demonstration of the Virtual Human Platform and its main features. Dr. Fabian Wagenaars then takes you through a complete safety assessment workflow, showing how he used the VHP to answer the regulatory question: ‘Does silychristin influence the thyroid hormone-mediated brain development in the fetus resulting in cognitive impairment in children?’ Along the way, he demonstrates some of the tools used in the assessment and show how different components of the VHP can be brought together to address a regulatory question.
